Great place to have a meal. Visited today for lunch. Delicious jacket potato with mushrooms and Stilton. Very pleasant and polite staff, lovely atmosphere. Good prices. Would highly recommend. Plenty of parking. Suggest booking a table as very popular.

Carvery is spot on, family atmosphere.I have been here quite a few times and intend to go again. The carvery is really good for the price and food is available every day and to a reasonable time in the evening.The team their work really well together and that means you get looked after. That have fantastic rooms available, they really are top notch. I would advise anyone to book your table ahead of time as they can fill up really quickly and that means waiting for a free place to munch. Will I go again, yep see you there :-) .
Recently had the carvery went for the turkey option as beef was rare, veg looked inviting but no greens. Once I started eating it soon became apparent that I would need to have steel jaws to chew the rock like roast potatoes let alone the carrot chunks or the bullet peas. Thankfully turkey was edible and the swede and boiled potatoes were ok.
Looks like the current owners are investing in this previously grand establishment. Decor tired but service was very good. Popped in during a lunchtime period without pre-booking. The place was packed but, with a little rearranging, we were found a table for two. The carvery was in high demand and looked very good. We both chose from the standard menu and enjoyed a tasty meal.
